Kootenay Cramp!!!!!!!!!
What? The Kootenay Cramp - hosted by LVR Cross Country. The Kootenay's toughest race! Gut busting and calf crushing hills, quad pounding paths, and mind testing tenacity - if you think that you're tough, this course will help you prove it. The length will be about 6km and the vertical gained is ridiculous.
Where? Nelson BC, Meet at the CIC Lower Soccer Field by Mary Hall. This is close to LVR. Call Graeme Marshall or Hans Davina if you don't know where to go. (352-5538)
When? - This Thursday - October 9, 2008
Why? Why not?
Who? Those that dare! Who will be the Kootenay Cramp Champ?
All the bravado to the side, this race is for everyone. There is a Juvenilee Category (Grades 6,7,8) where the students will be doing a shorter course ( but there is still a big hill in it for them)
Junior and Seniors, boys and girls will all do the same length race.
Coaches, due to the nature of the terrain in this race, a quality warm up is recommended for your runners. Ankles and calves should be limber and ready to go as there is a monster hill right off the start.
Another quality race in the Kootenay Cross Country series.-=
Putting the 'X' back in XC running!

Some Questions Answered
I've received several emails over the past few days and thought I'd answer some of your questions.
1) There will be three division: 7-8(Juvenile), 9-10 (Junior) and 11-12 (Senior)
2) At the East/West Kootenays all runners will run together as there are no age categories at Provincials
3)Distances: Juvenile 2-3 km, Junior and Senior 5-8 km. East/West will be 7 km for the guys and 4-5 km for the girls.
4) Grade 7s are encouraged to compete but cannot qualify for provincials
5) The first 3 races will start at 4:00pm. East/West at 2:00pm.
Any other questions?
